Northern Trust Named to Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes for Second Year
Inclusion underscores company’s ongoing efforts around corporate social responsibility
CHICAGO, September 24, 2012 —
Northern Trust (Nasdaq: NTRS) has been named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and the North America Index for the second year in a row. Northern Trust is one of six North American companies in the financial services and bank categories to be included on both indexes. A full list of companies included on each index may be found here.
The Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) ranks companies based on their corporate sustainability performance. The DJSI World Index ranks the top 10 percent of the world's 2,500 largest companies, while the North America Index ranks the top 20 percent of the 600 largest companies in the United States and Canada.
