Robert P. Morgan is Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Northern Trust Alternatives Group, with management responsibility for the multi-disciplined alternative asset investments team. Bob previously was director of private equity with Northern Trust, a position he held since co-founding its private equity team in 2000.
Prior to joining Northern Trust, Bob worked as a director at Frye-Louis Capital Advisors, LLC (FLCA), a Chicago-based private equity investment manager, and was responsible for all of the operations of FLCA, including the management of a private equity fund-of-funds. Prior to joining FLCA, he worked for Heller Financial, Inc., a middle-market commercial finance company, which was later acquired by General Electric. Bob was a senior vice president at Heller and was responsible for its private equity programs. Within Heller, he held several roles, including positions in the corporate finance group, corporate credit and Heller Equity Capital Corporation, Heller’s captive private equity fund. He has invested in more than 100 private equity funds covering the buyout, venture capital, structured high yield, real estate and international markets. While at Heller, Bob also oversaw a direct equity co-investment program which totaled approximately 20 investments.
Bob sits on the board of the Illinois Venture Capital Association and several fund advisory boards. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Wake Forest University and an MBA from Emory University.
Tony Lissuzzo is director of hedge fund research, responsible for manager selection and monitoring for 50 South Capital. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Tony was the portfolio manager at Lakeview Investment Management, responsible for all aspects of manager research and portfolio construction. He was previously head of new investments for Man Investments’ global multi manager business. At Man, Tony led a global team responsible for all aspects of due diligence for new hedge fund investments. His primary focus on this team was defining the research process. He began his career at D.E. Shaw as an options trader and portfolio manager, and subsequently held positions at Bank One and Sirius Partners.
Tony holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin in economics. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a member of the CFA Institute.
Aimee Wight is the Investor Relations Representative for Northern Trust Hedge Fund of Fund programs. Prior to this position she was an Investment Program Manager in Northern Trust Global Advisors’ program management group focused on Wealth Management Group clients (ultra high net worth families and foundations).
Before re-joining Northern Trust, Aimee was a Senior Vice President and member of the Board of Directors for Royal Palm Insurance Company. In this role she was responsible for managing the service provider and investment relationships, and exploring new business opportunities. Prior to Royal Palm, Aimee was a Director for an alternative investment company where she worked on risk-linked investments and business development. She also worked previously for Northern Trust as a commercial lender in the Middle Market Lending group and Treasury Management sales.
Aimee received her B.A. in Business Administration from Illinois Wesleyan University. She is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) and a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA). She also holds her series 63 and 7 licenses.
Kristin Norton is a Research Analyst at Northern Trust Investments. Ms. Norton graduated from Harvard College in 2013 with a major in East Asian Studies and secondary in Economics. During her time at Harvard, she was co-captain of the Women's Varsity Tennis Team in her junior and senior years. She brings previous summer internship experiences from her roles in equity research at Morgan Stanley and investment research at Mizuho Venture Capital, both located in Tokyo, Japan.
Tristan Thomas is director of portfolio strategy responsible for portfolio construction and monitoring, and a member of the team’s senior investment committee. Prior to joining Northern Trust Tristan was a strategy head at Mesirow Advanced Strategies and a member of the senior investment group. He was responsible for the monitoring and sourcing of all strategies that fell outside of credit and equity including macro, commodities, relative value, multi-strategy, volatility, convertible arbitrage and reinsurance. Prior to his role as a strategy head Tristan was a senior analyst covering all hedge fund strategies in Asia. He began his career at Lehman Brothers where he was on the emerging markets fixed income desk focused on sovereign debt and derivatives.
Tristan holds an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin in political science and international business. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a member of the CFA Institute. He also holds his series 7 and 63 licenses.
Greg Jones is a hedge fund research analyst at 50 South Capital. Prior to joining Northern Trust in 2014, Greg was employed at Cliffwater LLC, where he was a vice president on the firm’s hedge fund research team. At Cliffwater, he was responsible for sourcing and performing due diligence on hedge fund managers, with a focus on the global macro family of strategies, including discretionary global macro, systematic global macro, CTAs, currency and commodity hedge fund strategies.
Greg received his MBA from the University of Southern California and his bachelor’s degree in decision and information sciences from the University of Florida. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society of Chicago. Prior to attending business school, Greg was an IT consultant for a boutique technology solutions firm.
Jessica Chu is on the Investor Relations team for the Northern Trust Alternatives Hedge Fund Program. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Ms. Chu was an Asset Management Analyst at the J.P. Morgan Private Bank, where she tailored fixed income investment solutions for ultra high net worth individuals and select institutions. She also supported a team of investment specialists and worked directly with the Region Director for the sales management of investment products and business development initiatives. During her time at J.P. Morgan, Ms. Chu was responsible for managing the private equity and hedge fund books in fund raising and marketing for the Central Region. Ms. Chu received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University in English Literature and International Studies. She also holds her FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.
Robert D. DiCarlo joined Northern Trust Alternatives Group in 2011 as Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. Bob is responsible for implementing several infrastructure projects, and for positioning the group to achieve future growth in assets. Bob previously was with Aurora Investment Management, where he was responsible for all aspects of Aurora’s financial and performance reporting, and he also was involved in many of its systems and operational platforms.
Prior to Aurora, Bob worked at Deutsche Asset Management for nine years, and he has over 20 years of experience in the financial management area. Bob is a Certified Public Accountant (registered in Illinois), graduated from DePaul with a BS in Accounting, and received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Northwestern University.
David R. Williams is a Senior Portfolio Strategist for Northern Trust’s Fund of Hedge Funds products and a member of the team’s Senior Investment Committee. He works with both the fund of fund product offerings and directly with clients on custom alternative portfolios.
Prior to joining the firm in 2010, he spent seven years in portfolio management for Glenwood Capital, a large fund of hedge funds, and a subsidiary of the Man Group . There he was responsible for analyzing, proposing and managing portfolio changes to enable programs to meet their investment mandates while adhering to their investment guidelines. Previously David was a research analyst at Ellwood Associates, an investment consulting firm focused on institutional clients. He holds a Masters in Business Adminstration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BS in Finance from Illinois State University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute.
Adam J. Magyar is a senior investment risk analyst at Northern Trust Company of Connecticut. Adam is a member of the risk management team, responsible for monitoring and analyzing risk and performance of Northern Trust’s hedge fund of funds program. Prior to joining the risk management team, he was an investment performance consultant in the Northern Trust Investment risk and analytical services group. As an investment performance consultant, Adam worked with large corporate ERISA plans as well as endowments and foundations, assisting his clients in the investment management process by providing them performance measurement services, investment analysis and consulting services. Prior to joining Northern Trust, he worked at the Chicago Stock Exchange and a retail brokerage firm.
Adam holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Bradley University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Financial Risk Manager.
Norman E. Wachs is a Portfolio Analyst for Northern Trust’s Fund of Hedge Funds products with 20 years of experience in the investments field. He works closely with Portfolio Management and other teams within the Hedge Fund group including Research, Investor Relations, and Product Management. Norman has been with Northern Trust for a total of 10 years. In between his time at Northern, Norman worked for Lehman Brothers and Bank of America as an Institutional Portfolio Analyst. Norman’s roles at Northern prior to joining the Hedge Fund team, include work in Northern Trust's Asset Management business as a Senior Consultant - Investment Performance and Reporting, as well as an investment analyst in the Northern Trust Investment Risk and Analytical Services group. Norman began his career in 1994 working for approximately 5 years on the trading floor at the C.B.O.E. eventually trading for his own account. Norman holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance & Investments, with a minor in Business Journalism from the Zicklin School of Business - Baruch College. Throughout his career at Northern Trust, Norman has been awarded numerous awards for his work including a Quality Medallion Award, a Partner Appreciation Award, a Partner Service Award and a Total Quality Team Award.
Brian Tam is a Research Analyst at Northern Trust Alternatives. Mr. Tam is a member of the hedge fund research team responsible for manager research, sourcing, and ongoing monitoring and analysis. He currently focuses on Event Driven, Credit, and Healthcare focused managers, and has previously covered long/short equity generalists and other sector specialists. Mr. Tam joined Northern Trust as a part of its Investments rotational program where his experiences included Equity Research, Wealth Advisory, Multi-Manager Research, and Product Management.
Brian received his BA degree as a double major in Economics and Mathematics from Northwestern University. He is a CFA Charterholder.
