Regional President, Mid-Atlantic States
W. Brett Rees is the Regional President of Mid-Atlantic Market for The Northern Trust Company, the head of our Foundation and Institutional Advisory business for the East Region and the Managing Director of our Washington, D.C. Office. Prior to his current role, Brett was the National Director of Sales for the Personal Financial Services Division of Northern Trust. Brett oversaw the business development efforts with affluent families, corporations, endowments and nonprofit corporations on developing comprehensive, custom and innovative financial solutions to meet each client’s unique goals and objectives in the areas of growth, preservation and transfer of wealth. With over 24 years of financial services experience, Brett has been with Northern Trust since 1997.
Prior to Northern Trust, Brett worked as a Senior Vice President in Trust New Business with NationsBank (Bank of America) from 1994 to 1997, as a Private Banker with Bank of Boston in Florida serving high net worth individuals from 1989 to 1994 and as a Commercial Lender with First Union (Wachovia) from 1987 to 1989, where he started in their Corporate Management Training Program.
Brett received his B.A. degree in Economics with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Texas in Austin. During college, Brett completed a summer internship on Capitol Hill with Congressman Bob Davis - Representative for Michigan.
