John D. Fumagalli
John D. Fumagalli
Prior to his current role, Fumagalli served as President and Chief Executive Officer for the Southwest Florida region, as well as regional head of West Florida, with responsibility for all banking, trust and investment activities for the west coast of Florida.
John joined Northern Trust in Chicago as a Second Vice President in 1989. He was named a Vice President in 1992 and a Senior Vice President in 1999. While in Chicago, he served as the Managing Director of Northern’s Oak Street Financial Center and was responsible for the Northwestern Memorial Financial Center. In 2001 he was appointed President and CEO of the Saint Louis Financial Center. In 2005, John assumed responsibility for the Southwest Florida Region. In 2011, John was appointed Regional President of West Florida, directly responsible for all activities on the west coast of Florida.
Bringing over 25 years of experience in commercial and private banking, John received a B.A. degree in Economics in 1983 from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, and a Masters degree in Business Administration in 1997 from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
John serves on the Foundation Boards for Naples Community Hospital and Florida Gulf Coast University, the Advisory Board for Catholic Charities, and the Saint Ann Parish Finance Council. He is on the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of Collier County, the Conservancy of SW Florida, the Naples Botanical Garden, the Forum Club and the Council of Advisors of Searching For Solutions, Inc.

Sandy comes to Northern Trust from Fifth Third Bank in Naples, Florida, where he served at Vice President and team leader in the commercial real estate division. He mastered a range of disciplines within the financial arena during his twenty six year career with NBD Bank and in 1993 was selected to fulfill a newly created position as Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer.
Sandy received a degree in History from Princeton University, Princeton, New Jersey and a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He serves on the boards of the Boy Scouts of America – Southwest Florida Council, the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida, Habitat for Humanity – Lee County, and the United Way of Lee County; he is also a member of the Children’s Advocacy Center Capital Committee and the Lee Cancer Care Advisory Board. Sandy and his wife, Patty, reside in Bonita Springs.
