Steve "Mac" MacLellan is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Central Region for Northern Trust's Personal Financial Services (PFS) business. In this capacity he is responsible for leading the region's investment management, banking and fiduciary business for Northern Trust's offices in Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Missouri. In addition, MacLellan is a member of the Northern Trust Operating Group, the Northern Trust Personal Financial Services Executive Committee and is a board member of Northern Trust Securities Inc.
Prior to his current role, MacLellan was the CEO and Global Head of Business Practices and Client Segments for Northern Trust's PFS business. In that capacity, he oversaw PFS's professional business practices (investment management, private banking, personal trust and advisory services) as well as PFS's core client segments (Wealth Advisory, Private Client Services, and Foundations & Institutional Services). He was also responsible for the business unit's sales and marketing functions. Prior to assuming this role, MacLellan served as President and CEO for Northern Trust's PFS business in the Southwest Region (Arizona, Texas and Colorado). And prior to that assignment he served as National Director of Wealth Advisory Services.


Darrell B. Jackson is President of Personal Financial Services-Illinois. Private Financial Services provides fiduciary trust, investment, private banking and commercial banking solutions to Northern Trust clients in both Chicago and the suburbs.
Darrell was previously Deputy Head of Private Client Services – Illinois and Head of Private Client Services, Suburban Illinois. He is responsible for overseeing the company’s Private Client Services business in Northwest Lake/Cook Counties, Suburban Cook County, Eastern and Western DuPage, Lake Forest, Highland Park and the Suburban Owner Entrepreneur Group.
Prior to that Darrell was President and Chief Executive Officer of the Northern Trust Company’s Illinois West Suburban Region. He was also a Senior Vice President and Division Manager in Private Banking at the Northern Trust Company in Chicago. He managed a team of bankers that provided credit, financial planning, trust and investment services to corporate executives in the Illinois and Northeastern states.
Darrell is a career banker with nearly 30 years experience in the industry. His exposure to banking began at South Shore Bank while attending college locally. After working at South Shore Bank, he moved to Harris Bank where he spent 14 years in commercial and private banking.


Martha R. Hinchman is a Senior Vice President at The Northern Trust Company and serves as the Managing Director for the Lake County Wealth Advisory team in Illinois. In her role, Martha coordinates our team of experienced banking, trust and investment professionals to bring together our expertise, broad product and service capabilities, combined with our leading technology to help our clients build, preserve and transfer their wealth. The team creates integrated, customized and innovative financial solutions for successful individuals and families. In this way, we enable clients to reach their financial goals, to create their legacy, and have the freedom to focus on what really matters.
Martha joined Northern Trust in January, 1987 as a relationship manager in Private Banking in Chicago. She left Northern in 1989 to join Blunt Ellis and Loewi as a registered representative from 1989-1991, and was associated with Shearson Lehman Brothers from 1991–1992. She rejoined Northern in June, 1992 as the manager of Private Banking at the Lake Forest office and assumed responsibility for the commercial banking function in July, 1997. In addition she served as the Director of Banking and Senior Lender for the North Region before assuming responsibility for the Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Financial Centers in 2003. She assumed her current position as Managing Director of the Wealth Advisory team as well as Market Leader for Lake Forest in 2009.
Prior to joining Northern, Martha worked in credit and marketing positions for Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City for 10 years. Martha has 33 years in the Industry.
Martha has a B.A. degree in economics from Wellesley College. She also has completed a three-year program at the School of Banking of the South. Martha holds Series 6 and 63 licenses and has completed the DePaul University Certificate in Financial Planning Program.
Martha serves as a board member of the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago, serving on the Executive Committee, Endowment Committee, Member Advisory Committee and as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee. She also serves as a mentor in the Menttium 100 program, on the Business Advisory Council of the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and is active in Wellesley College alumnae activities.


Brayton B. Alley is Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the Private Client Services group at Northern Trust's Deerpath Financial Center in Lake Forest, IL.
As a Managing Director within Private Client Services, Brayton is responsible for the supervision of a group of interdisciplinary professionals who manage the complex investment, trust and banking needs for individuals and families. Brayton's primary duty is to ensure overall client satisfaction by directing and coordinating the efforts of appropriate bank resources for timely delivery of quality service, issue resolution and effective communication to clients.
Prior to serving as a Managing Director in Lake Forest, Brayton served as an Investment Strategist in Northern Trust Global Advisors, working with institutional clients to implement investment programs including program design, asset allocation, manager selection and review. Before joining Northern Trust Global Advisors, he served in Northern Trust Global Investments with business development and relationship management responsibilities for Securities Lending clients. Brayton started his career at Northern as a trainee in the Global Opportunities in Leadership (GOLD) program.
Brayton holds a B.A. degree from Northwestern University and an M.B.A. degree from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. He holds his Series 6, 7 and 63 licenses.
Brayton is Treasurer of the Guild Board of the Chicago Botanic Garden and Treasurer of the Atwill Memorial Chapel in Northport Point, MI. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Elawa Farm Foundation and a member of the Guild Board of the Boys & Girls Club of Chicago. He also serves as Co-President of The Lawrenceville School Club of Chicago. He was formerly a member of the Northern Trust United Way Leadership Committee and was the past President of Chicago Children’s Charities.
