Paul L. Kasriel — Chief Economist
Paul joined the economic research unit of The Northern Trust Company in 1986 as Vice President and Economist, being named Senior Vice President and Director of Economic Research in 2000. His economic and interest rate forecasts are used both internally and by clients. The accuracy of the Economic Research Department’s forecasts has consistently been highly-ranked in the Blue Chip survey of about 50 forecasters over the years.

Northern Trust Corporation Reports Second Quarter 2009 Net Income of $314.2 Million, up 46% from the Prior Year

Northern Trust Corporation reported second quarter net income per common share of $.95, compared with reported net income per common share of $.96 in the second quarter of 2008.  Net income was $314.2 million compared with net income of $215.6 million reported in the second quarter of last year.  Net income applicable to common stock, which includes the impact of dividends and discount accretion relating to preferred shares, totaled $226.1 million.
