Northern Trust Corporation Reports Third Quarter 2009 Net Income of $187.9 Million, Net Income per Common Share Equals $0.77

Northern Trust Corporation reported third quarter net income per common share of $.77, compared with a reported net loss per common share of $.66 in the third quarter of 2008. Net income was $187.9 million compared with a net loss of $148.3 million reported in the third quarter of last year. The prior year quarter's results were negatively impacted by client support related charges totaling $561.5 million ($1.59 per common share).
