Senior Product Specialist

Mamadou is a Vice President and Senior Product Specialist in our London office. Mamadou works primarily on advancing our Global Index Equity product positioning, capabilities, and business in EMEA and APAC regions. He brings a strong background in product development and support activities. His previous role was with HSBC Global Asset Management as a Quant Product Specialist responsible for Quantitative Strategies across all asset classes in EMEA. Before HSBC, Mamadou worked within the Business Development Service department at Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) where he was covering Portable Alpha and Liability Driven strategies. Prior to this position Mamadou worked as a Fund of Hedge Fund Marketing Analyst at Amundi Alternative Investments covering CTA and Global Macro funds. Mamadou started his career as a FX Sales Trader for Citigroup based in Senegal.

Mamadou received his BA in Economics from the Universite Jean Monnet and holds a Specialized Masters in International Project Management from the European School of Management (ESCP Europe), Paris. Additionally, he received the Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ) from the Chartered Institute from Securities & Investment (CISI) and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute from Securities & Investment (ACSI).

Senior Vice President - Head of International Sales & Servicing

Sunil Daswani is a Vice President at The Northern Trust Company's London Office. He is the Director and Regional Manager for Securities Lending (Asia), at Northern Trust Global Investments. His primary responsibility revolves around addressing and evaluating securities lending initiatives for lenders and borrowers where Northern Trust acts as an agent lender. Mr. Daswani additionally focuses on building the supply of Asian assets for Northern Trust's global securities lending program, ensuring that the due diligence is carried out when lending its clients assets in each jurisdiction.

Further, he is responsible for maintaining updated market information and knowledge through relationships with regional contacts that may influence or shape the markets in which Northern Trust lends securities.

He has twelve years of experience in the securities industry, of which the last four have been at Northern Trust. He previously spent seven years at Citigroup as a Global Custody product manager developing many products, including their web-based automated custody FX product, cash pooling products, and implementing a treasury middle office unit. Prior to this position, he spent some time in the treasury operations area at UBS.

In May 2005, Mr. Daswani accepted the position of Chairman for the Pan Asian Securities Lending Association (PASLA) for one year. He was re-elected in 2006 for a further year. In this role he ensures that the fellow members are kept updated on key industry events, coordinating as an industry, where necessary, responses to various international regulatory bodies on topical issues, discussion papers and general market issues.

Mr. Daswani has a B.Sc. (Economics) with Honours from the London School of Economics, University of London, where he majored in Accounting & Finance.

Director of Global Fixed Income

David is responsible for the management of global fixed income and is based in our London office. Fund structures range from single currency short duration mandates to multi currency long duration global government bond funds both active and passive.

After graduating in 1999 with a Master of Physics degree David worked for three years as a Gilt Repo trader and short duration Portfolio Manager for HMT UK Debt Management Office.

David joined Northern Trust in January 2003 as a Portfolio Manager covering the USD and Euro books for Securities Lending cash re-investment and was appointed senior Portfolio Manager in 2007.

Sr. Vice President, Head of Transition Management

Simon Hutchinson is a Senior Vice President at Northern Trust and Head of Transition Management, International. Simon's role since joining Northern Trust in 2004 has been to develop and grow the transition management business across Europe, Middle East and Africa and Asia-Pacific.

Simon and his experienced transition management team, work with clients to develop restructuring solutions and then manage the planning, implementation and reporting to ensure a successful event. Simon also forms part of the global transition management leadership team, working closely with colleagues based in Chicago to ensure product developments, process and technology are common across the entire transition management solution.

Before joining Northern Trust, Simon worked in London at the agency broker Instinet, where his final position was Head of UK Clients and Portfolio Trading.

Simon graduated from Queen Mary Westfield (University of London) in 1992 with an honours degree in Politics.

Managing Director of asset management, EMEA region

John Krieg, CFA, CAIA is Managing Director of asset management, EMEA region, Northern Trust. John is responsible for the development and implementation of the overall vision and strategy of the EMEA investment business whilst leading the regional business development and client service teams.

Prior to this role, John was Director of Global Product Management and Development where he was responsible for investment product management across  Northern Trust’s asset management fixed income, equity and manager of managers investment product lines. His responsibilities included product development, innovation, pricing and delivery.

Prior to joining Northern Trust in 2002, John was Director of Relationship Management and the Fixed Income Product Manager for TimesSquare Capital Management in New York. John managed client relationships and served as a product specialist. Previously he was with Credit Suisse Asset Management and BEA Associates where he was Vice President, Head of Fixed Income Relationship Management and a member of the insurance investment management sales team. John began his career with Hewitt Associates and Towers Perrin.

John holds an MBA from DePaul University - Charles H. Kellstadt Graduate School of Business and a B.S. degree in Finance from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He is a CFA charter holder and holds Series 7 and 63 licenses. John is a member of the CFA Society of the UK, the New York Society of Security Analysis. He is also a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.

Head of Business Development, EMEA

Madeleine Senior is Head of Business Development for Northern Trust’s asset servicing business in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). In this role, she is responsible for leading business development teams across EMEA and is focused on developing innovative servicing solutions for new and existing clients.

Since joining Northern Trust in 1994, Madeleine has held a range of executive management roles in London, Chicago and Stockholm. Prior to relocating to London in early 2012, Madeleine was based in Stockholm where as the Managing Director of our Nordic business she led Northern Trust’s development in the region, which included overseeing the opening of the Stockholm branch office in 2009.

She has also worked as a Senior Relationship Manager within our Global Fund Services and Institutional Investor groups - looking after European asset managers, in-house managed clients, and European wealth clients. From 1997 to 2000, Madeleine was based in the Chicago office working with the North American Investment Manager Liaison group, managing a number of key fund manager relationships.

Prior to joining Northern Trust, Madeleine spent two years in Australia, where she worked for Bankers Trust Sydney. Before working in the investment industry, she was a high school teacher.

Madeleine received her B. Ed degree with honours in English from Westminster College Oxford and her Investment Management Certificate.

Senior Vice President

Toby Glaysher is Head of Global Fund Services Europe, which provides global custody, fund administration and investment operations outsourcing services to investment manager clients of the bank.

Toby first joined the London office in 1987. During his 22 years at The Northern Trust Company, Toby has specialized in asset administration and performed several managerial and technical roles in both the back and front offices and in a number of locations, including four years at Northern Trust’s headquarters in Chicago.

In addition to his many years of experience in the industry, Toby has also achieved examination success with the U.K. Society of Investment Professionals and is registered with the Financial Services Authority.

Executive Vice President

Based in London, Penelope is head of Northern Trust’s Institutional Investor Group – the business unit dedicated to servicing sophisticated global asset owners.

In this capacity, Penelope manages the bank’s institutional business activities across the EMEA region. Her teams are directly responsible for business development, client servicing, relationship management, marketing, product delivery and strategy for the region - providing sophisticated asset servicing and asset management solutions for sovereign wealth funds, central banks, government agencies, supranationals, insurance companies, corporations and public/private pension institutions. She is also responsible for managing the bank’s offices in the Netherlands, Sweden and Abu Dhabi.

In addition to her role as Head of the Institutional Investor Group, Penelope is head of Northern Trust’s Retirement Solutions Practice, an advisory group dedicated to helping financial institutions navigate the complexities of the global retirement market. She is also on the boards of Northern Trust Global Services, Northern Trust Global Investments and Northern Trust Fund Managers Ireland and is a long-standing member of the bank’s EMEA Executive Committee. Penelope is involved in various charity committees for the Lord Major of London (Olympics and Jubilee events) and has a long-standing nomination from the Financial News Top 100 Women in Finance awards.

Prior to taking up her role as head of the Institutional Investor Group, Penelope was head of global business development. Before that she held the position of Head of Corporate & Institutional Services EMEA and was the General Manager of Northern Trust’s branch in London. She also had responsibility for Northern Trust’s businesses in Luxembourg and Dublin.

Before joining Northern Trust in 1996, Penelope held a variety of sales and relationship management positions at Barclays Global Securities Services, Midland Securities Services and Chase Manhattan.

Senior Vice President

Aaron focuses on developing new cross border pooling opportunities with multinationals and investment managers.

Prior to Northern Trust, Aaron worked for CheckFree, a leading provider of trade processing and corporate actions software solutions, where he held a business development role from 2003. Previously, he worked at Thomson Financial for five years, selling front, middle and back office fund accounting and portfolio management software solutions to buy-side clients. He has over 13 years’ industry experience and has also worked at ABN Amro on their Delta One trading team.

Global Head of Product Management

Paul is a Senior Vice President at Northern Trust, Chicago. Paul leads the product management and development activities for Northern Trust’s Corporate and Institutional business.  The broad range of products and capabilities support Northern Trusts’ strategic goals globally.

Paul leverages his experience in operations, technology, risk management and client service to ensure Northern Trusts clients optimally benefit from the solutions his team brings to market.

Prior to taking this leadership role, Paul headed the Investment Risk and Analytical Services division.  This solutions oriented organization was focused on assisting clients with their risk management responsibilities. 
 
Many initiatives Paul has participated in throughout the organization have brought new capabilities to clients or optimized the organizational efficiency of Northern Trust. These initiatives included the development of simulation methodologies for the bank's mortgage and derivative portfolios.  Implementation of the initial Value at Risk model utilized by all foreign exchange trading desks.  Regionalization of the IRAS division to support clients locally on a global scale.
