Vice President

Aaron focuses on developing new cross border pooling opportunities with multinationals and investment managers.

Prior to Northern Trust, Aaron worked for CheckFree, a leading provider of trade processing and corporate actions software solutions, where he held a business development role from 2003. Previously, he worked at Thomson Financial for five years, selling front, middle and back office fund accounting and portfolio management software solutions to buy-side clients. He has over 13 years’ industry experience and has also worked at ABN Amro on their Delta One trading team.

Senior Vice President

Sue Baines is Head of GFS sales for Northern Trust in EMEA. This team is responsible for selling the bank's asset servicing, administration and outsourcing products to investment managers and institutions.

Before joining Northern Trust in 2005, Sue was Deputy Head of Sales at Clearstream in Luxembourg  following a role in Strategic Planning. Prior to that she spent 12 years at Barclays, specialising in securities at Barclays Global Securities Services and subsequently as Head of Customer Relations at Barclays Insurance.

Sue has an MA in Mathematics from Oxford University.  She was founder Chairperson of what is now the International Capital Market Services Association, is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and a member of the UK Society of Investment Professionals.

Global Head of IRAS

Jim Trotter has worked in the performance and risk industry for over 20 years and joined Northern Trust in February 2005 to head up the Investment Risk and Analytical Services team in London, looking after Northern's EMEA custody and outsourced client base taking performance measurement, market risk and compliance monitoring services. Jim was promoted to Global Deputy Head in June 2007 and to Global Head in early 2009.

Prior to joining, Jim worked for Investit for two years- a specialist consultancy firm, who work exclusively with the investment management industry. At Investit, Jim was the author of research papers in 2004 on the outsourcing of performance measurement capabilities from asset managers to third party sources and also produced a number of leading Performance Measurement & Risk surveys.

From 1998 to 2003 Jim worked at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM) in London, ending his tenure there as the head of the performance and portfolio analysis team from 2000 onwards. Prior to joining MLIM, Jim worked for over ten years as a Client Manager for the WM Company in Edinburgh, looking after client relations with Investment Manager and Pension Trustee clients of WM. Jim was also an IMA representative on the NAPF UK Investment Performance Committee (UKIPC) for Performance Standards and a member of the IMA Investment Performance Working Group until early 2003.

Executive Vice President

Based in London, Penelope is head of business development, marketing, product and strategy for Northern Trust's business in EMEA.

In this capacity, Penelope runs teams located across the EMEA region. These teams are responsible for distributing the bank's asset servicing and asset management products to institutional and high net worth investors. She is also head of Northern Trust's Retirement Solutions Practice, an advisory group dedicated to helping institutions navigate the complexities of the global retirement market.

Before taking on this role, Penelope was head of global business development for asset servicing. Prior to that she was Head of Corporate & Institutional Services, EMEA and General Manager of Northern Trust's branch in London. She was also responsible for Northern Trust's businesses in Luxembourg and Dublin.

Before joining Northern Trust in 1996, Penelope held a variety of sales and relationship management positions at Barclays Global Securities Services, Midland Securities Services and Chase Manhattan.

Senior Vice President

Peter manages the foreign exchange and balance sheet exposures of the London branch. He coordinates the offering of foreign exchange and investment services to clients, working closely with the Chicago and Singapore offices to deliver global product capability. Peter ensures that the London branch operates within the policies and guidelines as set forth by the Bank of England and U.S. regulatory authorities.

Previously, Peter spent ten years with First Chicago, first as chief foreign exchange manager and then as manager of the Institutional Trading and Marketing group responsible for servicing investment managers. Peter has also worked as a foreign exchange manager for Dresdner Bank in New York and a senior foreign exchange trader for Citibank in London, with assignments in Athens, Copenhagen and New York trading rooms.

Senior Vice President

Prior to joining Northern Trust, he was President an Chief Operating Officer of internet broker Wingspan Investment Services, Inc., a Bank One company. Prior to its merger with Bank One, Mr. Ransford served as First Chicago NBD's chief technology officer for its retail investment subsidiaries First Chicago NBD Investment Services and Roney & Co. He has developed several leading brokerage web sites including Wingspan, Bank One's OneInvest and its predecessor First Chicago NBD Online Brokerage.

Ransford has spent his 29-year career in the brokerage industry. Prior to joining Northern Trust in 2000, he held various management positions with Bank One, Fidelity Investments and Prudential Securities.
