Northern Sponsors American Ballet Theater
For the second straight year, Northern Trust is the corporate sponsor of the American Ballet Theatre’s Spring Season at the Metropolitan Opera House.
ABT is recognized as one of the greatest dance companies in the world. Since its founding in 1940, ABT has toured the United States annually, performing for more than 600,000 people. Recognized as a living national treasure, few ballet companies equal ABT for its combination of size, scope and outreach.
Following ABT’s successful March engagement in Cleveland, Northern Trust is supporting the company’s programs in Orange County, California from May 2-7, and New York City from May 23 to July 15.

European Expansion
Northern Trust has expanded its European wealth management business with the appointment of Nick Ring to the newly created role of Head of Wealth Management, Europe. Ring will be focusing on bringing Northern’s expertise, product array and infrastructure to the European market.
In March, Northern Trust expanded further into Europe with the opening of its new office in Amsterdam. Located at World Trade Centre, H-Toren, Zuidplein 36, the office will provide institutional investors with global custody, administration services, information and risk management services, and asset management.

Rick Waddell
Named President
and COO
Frederick H. “Rick” Waddell has been named President and Chief Operating Officer of the Northern Trust Corporation. Waddell was also elected to the Corporation’s Board of Directors. In addition to retaining his current responsibilities as President, Corporate and Institutional Services, Waddell will oversee Northern Trust’s other principal operating businesses, Personal Financial Services, Northern Trust Global Investments, and World Wide Operations and Technology.
Waddell, who holds a B.A. degree from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University, joined Northern Trust in 1975. From 1994 until 2003, he led Northern Trust’s Wealth Management Group. Prior to that, he was Executive Vice President for Northern Trust Bank of California.

Set Sail at the Jimmy Fund Regatta
The second annual Jimmy Fund Regatta, presented by Northern Trust, will be held June 3 to June 4 in Newport, Rhode Island. Organizers of this world-class regatta expect more than 100 boats to race in several divisions — all to benefit cancer research and care at Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through its Jimmy Fund. Last year, sailors raised more than $175,000. This year, regatta organizers hope to bring in more than $200,000.
A unique part of the Jimmy Fund Regatta is an event called the Sail for Jimmy, which will be held on Saturday, June 3. This leg of the regatta, in which participants navigate the course around Conanicut Island, also offers other sailboats and powerboats an opportunity to join the course and show their support for the Dana-Farber Institute.
