Head of Asset Owners, Americas
Chris is Head of Asset Owners, Americas at Northern Trust. In this role, he leads the firm's asset owner business across the Americas, overseeing strategy, client engagement, and business development for a broad range of institutional investor segments, including public funds, corporations, not-for-profit organizations, insurance companies, and self-managed asset owners. Chris is responsible for driving growth, deepening client relationships, and delivering solutions that help asset owners achieve their investment and operational objectives.
Prior to assuming this role, Chris served as Practice Executive for key client segments, including Large Corporate, Not-for-Profit, Public Funds, Insurance Solutions, and Self-Managed Asset Owners. Before that, he was Global Head of Relationship Management for Northern Trust Hedge Fund Services (HFS), where he oversaw relationship management and client service activities globally. In that capacity, he provided leadership to the relationship management team and served as a strategic advisor to clients, helping strengthen and expand long-term partnerships.
Chris brings extensive investment, operations, and client management experience to his role. Prior to the formation of HFS through Northern Trust's acquisition of Omnium LLC from Citadel, he spent four years at Citadel as Vice President of Global Fixed Income. He later transitioned into relationship management when Omnium LLC was established in 2007, becoming Head of Relationship Management in 2009 and a member of the HFS Management Team.
Earlier in his career, Chris held a series of progressively senior management and operations positions with CNA Insurance over an eleven-year period. His experience included serving as a Portfolio Manager on the firm's short-term investment desk before advancing to Director of Securities Operations.
Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in public accounting from Loyola University Chicago and an MBA in Finance from DePaul University's Graduate School of Business. He is a Certified Public Accountant and an active member of several industry organizations, including the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA), the Managed Funds Association (MFA), and the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA).
