Christian Roth is global co-chief investment officer for Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM). In this capacity, he oversees a broad range of investment capabilities from index, fundamental, quantitative and tax-advantaged strategies to active, multi-asset class solutions and alternative investments. Chris is also responsible for the development of investment vision and philosophy and leads an investment team of more than 300 professionals globally. Additionally, he is a member of the Asset Management Executive Group, Investment Policy Committee and Risk Committee.

Chris has over 35 years of financial industry experience. Most recently, he served as chief investment officer, global fixed income for NTAM, where he was responsible for the investment strategy, process and approach for the firm’s fixed income business globally. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Chris was at Morgan Stanley Investment Management. While there, he held several leadership roles in the firm’s fixed income business including chairman, broad markets fixed income, head of multi-sector fixed income, head of credit and global fixed income and co-head, global and European fixed income. Previously, Chris served as a portfolio manager and analyst while at Miller Anderson & Sherrerd before their acquisition by Morgan Stanley Investment Management. Before that, he was a senior associate at Dean Witter Capital Corporation.

Chris earned a bachelor’s of science in economics, majoring in finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and he is a CFA^® charterholder.
