Stacy Singer

Practice Leader, Trust Services

Stacy E. Singer is the National Practice Leader for Trust and Wealth Advisory Services at The Northern Trust Company, where she works closely with trust professionals on all aspects of the delivery of fiduciary services to clients nationally and with wealth advisory professionals on the delivery of proactive wealth planning advice. She previously served as the National Director of Estate Settlement Services. Ms. Singer joined Northern Trust in 2003.

Ms. Singer was previously a Vice President in the Estate Administration Division at Harris Trust & Savings Bank in Chicago, where she handled the administration of decedent, minors and disabled estates. Prior to Harris, she was a member of the estate and succession planning department at Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella, P.C., where she specialized in estate and succession planning strategies, estate and trust administration and guardianship for minors and disabled adults. She has been appointed as a Guardian ad Litem in both decedent and disabled estates and as a Special Administrator in decedent estates.

Stacy joined Northern Trust as a Vice President in June, 2003 as an Estate Administrator, and then served as a Manager of Administration in the Estate Settlement Services Group, managing a team and handling account acceptance and risk management for the division. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Stacy was a Vice President in Estate Administration at Harris Trust & Savings Bank. Stacy was previously in private law practice, as an Associate at Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella, P.C. from 1995 to 1999 and as an Associate at Chuhak & Tecson, P.C. from 1993 to 1995.

Stacy received a B.A. degree in Political Science with high honors from the University of Michigan and a J.D. degree from the University of Michigan Law School. Stacy also holds a Certified Private Wealth Advisor designation.

Stacy is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), where she serves as the incoming Illinois State Chair. She is a past president of the Chicago Estate Planning Council. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education. She is a former Adjunct Professor at the John Marshall Law School, Center for Tax Law and Employee Benefits and was previously on the Faculty of the American Bankers Association National Trust School. She is the chair of the Professional Advisory Committee for Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago, and a member of the American Technion Institute and for the Hadley Institute for the Blind and Visually Impaired. She is a frequent speaker for numerous organizations, including the Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning, ACTEC, ALI-CLE, the Notre Dame Tax and Estate Planning Institute, the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, and the Chicago Estate Planning Council. She has authored articles in numerous publications, including Estate Planning, Trusts & Estates and the Journal of Philanthropy.
