Michele Havens is President of the West Region at Northern Trust. In this position she is responsible for managing the company’s wealth management business in the Western United States. Based in Los Angeles, Michele previously served as President of the Southern California Region with oversight for offices in Century City, Pasadena, Santa Barbara, Orange County and San Diego. In that position, she was responsible for the investment management, trust, estate, private and business banking business. She works extensively with high net worth families and their related charitable entities. She has a strong business record and brings an uncompromising focus to clients. In addition, she is a member of Northern Trust's Western Region Executive Leadership Team and the firm's Global Business Leadership Council.
Michele became President of the Southern California Region in 2018 and President of Los Angeles region in 2012 after leading the Pacific Northwest as Region President (2009-2011), Managing Director and Senior Investment Officer (2006 - 2009). Prior to her time in Seattle she was a Portfolio Manager (2000-2006) in Los Angeles. She joined Northern Trust in 2000. Prior to her tenure at Northern Trust, Michele worked in New York as a private client advisor for JP Morgan.
Michele holds her Bachelor of Arts degree in finance and marketing from Boston College and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management where she was recognized as the most valuable student by classmates.
Michele holds a Certified Financial Planner®, (CFP®) designation and is a member of the Financial Planning Association. She was awarded the Puget Sound Business Journal's 40 Under 40 Award in 2010. In 2013, Michele received nominations by the Los Angeles Business Journal for the Women Making a Difference Awards and was honored by the Century City Chamber of Commerce for the Women of Achievement award.
Michele and her husband have a 12 year old daughter and a 9 year old son. They enjoy spending time with family, playing in the backyard, golfing, and skiing.
Michele serves on the Board of Directors for United Way of Greater Los Angeles, Los Angeles Women's Leadership Council, YPO Los Angeles and the Jonathan Club. Prior activities include the LA Legends Club, Vistage International, Seattle Rotary, Woodland Park Zoo Board of Directors and Summer Search Seattle.
