Managing Director, Barrington
Thomas G. Wischhusen is a Senior Vice President at the Northern Trust Company and serves as the Managing Director of the Northern Trust's Barrington Financial Center as well as serving as the market leader for the Bank's efforts in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. In his role, Tom coordinates our team of experienced banking, trust and investment professionals to bring together our expertise, broad product and service capabilities, combined with our leading technology to help our clients build, preserve and transfer their wealth. The team creates integrated, customized and innovative financial solutions for successful individuals and families. In this way, we enable clients to reach their financial goals, to create their legacy, and have the freedom to focus on what really matters.
Tom has also served as Managing Director of the Northern's Oakbrook Terrace, and Schaumburg Financial Centers as well as serving as the bank's Senior Lending Office for the west and northwest suburban markets and finally, as Vice President in the Metropolitan Commercial Banking Division in Chicago.
Prior to joining the Northern Trust in 1985, Tom spent five years with Harris Trust and Savings Bank in their Business Banking Group.
Tom graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a BS in Finance.
Tom is a Certified Financial Planner™ and also a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor ™ .
Tom is a member of the board of directors of Northwest Community Healthcare as well as the past president and current board member of the Harper College Educational Foundation. Tom is the past president of Shelter, Inc. a child welfare agency located in Arlington Heights, as well as a past vice president of development for the United Way of Schaumburg and Hoffman Estates.
Tom is an expert at understanding a person’s concerns and goals and then using Northern Trust’s years of experience in wealth management to help address those concerns and effectively accomplish their goals.
