Gerard van Leusden is head of sales in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Northern Trust Asset Management. Based in Amsterdam, Gerard oversees the EMEA sales team and is focused on growing market share as well as building long-term relationships. He is also responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with institutional clients as well as developing new innovative partnerships in the EMEA region.

Previously, Gerard worked for nearly five years at BlackRock (Barclays Global Investors) in the financial institutions group. He focused on institutional strategies and the development of iShares in the Benelux region from both sales and marketing perspectives. Gerard also worked for five years at Euronext Amsterdam, where he was responsible for the institutional investors team. Before that he worked for two years at Delta Holding in Amsterdam as a portfolio manager. He was also an international equities trader at Rabobank.

Gerard earned a bachelor's degree in business management from Hogeschool van Utrecht in 1998.
