David is responsible for overseeing regional governance, strategy and reporting for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Northern Trust. He oversees the EMEA Conduct Office – the team managing the day-to-day operation of the United Kingdom (UK) Senior Managers and Certification Regime and other accountability regimes in the region – and is responsible for oversight of UK outsourcing requirements.

David represents Northern Trust on several industry groups, including the UK Finance Capital Markets and Wholesale Banking Board, and is Co-Chair of The Investing and Saving Alliance (TISA) Governance, Conduct and Culture Committee.

David joined Northern Trust in January 2017 from State Street Bank & Trust Company. With 30 years’ experience in the legal and financial services industries, David has held senior management roles covering brokerage, asset management, family offices and custody banking businesses both in the UK and the Middle East and also worked for the UK Financial Conduct Authority, where he supervised multiple custody banks and asset management companies.
