Alex Taylor is an Executive Vice President and the Chief Human Resources Officer for Northern Trust.

In her role, Alex is responsible for leading an inclusive and competitive talent strategy designed to elevate performance and create a world-class employee experience for over 23,000 employees in more than 20 countries. Appointed in October 2022, Alex has set the talent strategy for Northern Trust focusing on total performance and rewards, employee development and the modernization of systems, processes and tools. She also serves as a member of the Northern Trust Management Group.

Alex is a global HR leader with over 20 years of experience across strategy, employee relations, compensation, recruitment, DEI, organizational design and process excellence. She was with Bank of America for nearly two decades where she held numerous roles. Before joining Northern Trust, she led HR for the corporate, institutional and wealth management businesses. She also oversaw the team responsible for regulatory relations, conduct and culture. 

In her role as a Rush University Medical Center Trustee, Alex serves on the health system’s Human Capital and Compensation Committee and the Education & Workforce Development Advisory Council. Committed to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Alex is the Executive Sponsor of Northern Trust’s Black Business Resource Council and previously served on the Toigo Board, an organization committed to the ongoing development and promotion of exceptional diverse talent. Alex holds a BS in business administration from the University of South Carolina.
