David W. Fox, Jr.
President, GFO
David W. Fox, Jr. is the President of Global Family and Private Investment Offices. Prior to this role, Dave was Executive Vice President and Head of the Americas, Corporate & Institutional Services, with responsibility for all of Northern Trust’s institutional businesses in North and South America. Along with those duties, Dave was Chairman of The Northern Trust Company, Canada, the Americas Business Oversight Committee, and the Americas Executive Management Committee.
Dave joined Northern Trust in 2012 after more than 25 years at JPMorgan in New York and London, where he was Vice Chairman of Investment Banking, a member of the firm’s Investment Banking Management Committee, and CEO of Midwest Investment Banking. Dave’s prior experience at JPMorgan included roles as head of investment banking for various global industry sectors, including transportation, shipping, industrials, chemicals and real estate. During his career he has advised clients on numerous mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and capital-raising activities.
Dave holds a BSFS from Georgetown University and an MBA in finance from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Goodman Theatre. Dave’s previous outside board positions include the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Field Museum of Chicago, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital, YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, the Executives’ Club of Chicago and the Latin School of Chicago. Dave is also a member of the Commercial Club of Chicago.
