Expertise

Katherine Nixon is an Executive Vice President and President of the Northeast Region, Wealth Management. She is responsible for overseeing the firm's investment management, banking and fiduciary business for Northern Trust's offices in the Northeast Region, which includes New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.

Experience

Katherine began her career at Northern Trust in 2004, helping to launch our efforts in New York City, Boston and Greenwich, Connecticut. She remained a regional resource until 2011, when she was promoted to serve as the Chief Investment Officer for the Wealth Management business at Northern Trust. In this national role, she led the national investment management practice, with responsibility for our Goals Driven Wealth Management process and framework, our investment capabilities offering, and supporting our partners and clients with thought leadership.

Education

Katherine received her B.A. from Wellesley College and her MBA in finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business, where she graduated with distinction, Beta Gamma Sigma and was a Stern Scholar.

Credentials

She has received the designations of both Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) and Certified Private Wealth AdvisorSM (CPWA®) from the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA). She has been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is also a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and IMCA.
