Curt serves as President of the Phoenix Region at Northern Trust. He oversees the growth and development of the Phoenix and Scottsdale markets alongside a tenured team of wealth management leaders who are responsible for the delivery of best-in-class investment management, trust, banking, and advisory based solutions.
Experience
Smith joined Northern Trust in 2015 as Senior Vice President and Banking Practice Leader for Northern Trust's Arizona, Colorado, and Nevada markets. He was charged with growing the firm's lending business while overseeing credit and portfolio related risk. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Curt worked at MidFirst Bank as the Southwest Credit Executive responsible for all regional credit risk activities and as Market Manager for Commercial Banking. Before joining MidFirst, he was with Wells Fargo Bank and Bank of America.
Community Involvement
Curt is a trustee at Phoenix Art Museum, a board member at Arizona Community Foundation, and a member of Greater Phoenix Leadership. He is a past Chairman of the Board at Ballet Arizona and past board member of the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants, Arcadia Little League, and Executive Council Charities.

Curt earned a BS in accounting from Santa Clara University and an MBA from W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Curt is a licensed CPA in the State of Arizona and is a Certified Private Wealth Advisor ® designee through The Investments & Wealth Institute.
