John Turney is Head of Global Foreign Exchange at Northern Trust Capital Markets.
Prior to this appointment, John has held a number of senior positions across Northern Trust Global Foreign Exchange, including developing and managing CompleteFX (outsourced FX transaction processing and execution service), leading the PASCO (passive currency hedging) business; FX sales and relationship management and operations and technology to support the FX business.
John has also served as a Vice President of Luminous Capital, now a division of First Republic Investment Management. While at Luminous, John worked closely with one of the firm’s founding partners managing a portion of the firm’s then $6bn in assets across various liquid and illiquid strategies.
John holds a B.S. degree in International Political Economy, Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University – 2007.
Dan runs the sales effort for Northern Trust's Foreign Exchange business globally. NT's FX capabilities include a full E-Commerce execution suite, automated passive currency overlay products, outsourced FX solutions and direct dealing services in spot, forwards, swaps and NDFs in G-20 and restricted currency markets. In his role, Dan oversees all aspects of client trading, account management and new business development across NT's range of execution services. He is based in Chicago, where he coordinates the activities of the global sales organization.
Prior to joining Northern Trust in 2016, Dan held the position of Head of Sales-Americas at EBS, a leading interbank FX ECN owned by NEX Group plc. He worked in the EBS Sales management team for 11 years. He previously worked at the Bank of New York, as a senior sales representative in the ADR Division.
Dan received an M.B.A. in Finance from the NYU Stern School of Business in 2002. He also earned his B.A. in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University in 1988. Dan speaks six languages and has worked in the international finance arena for more than 25 years.
