Michael G. Darby

Michael Darby is a Senior Vice President and Northern California President covering both the Northern California and Salt Lake City markets. With over a decade of banking and lending experience, Michael joined Northern Trust in 2018 as a Banking Relationship Advisor. In his current position, he develops and manages relationships with high net worth individuals, families and businesses, and provides investment, credit, and capital market products and services.

Prior to joining Northern Trust, Michael served as a Senior Relationship Manager and Vice President for Wells Fargo's Middle Market Banking Group based in Palo Alto, CA. He was a recipient of the 2016 Middle Market Banking Pinnacle Award for the Wells Fargo Bay Area Northern California Division for demonstrating partner collaboration and providing lending support to customer relationships across the division.

Michael was recently elected President (2025- 2026) of The Guardsmen, a San Francisco- based non-profit organization that supports Bay Area children from low-income households by providing educational scholarships and access to outdoor summer camps. He also sits on the Board of Directors for Family House San Francisco, is a member of the Board of Governors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco, and has spearheaded several corporate philanthropy events involving the United Way and Adopt a Family organizations. Michael is an avid reader, enjoys hiking and the outdoors, and has finished five marathon races. He lives with his wife and two children in Lafayette, CA.
