Prior to his current role, Dale was a Fiduciary Risk Specialist in the Corporate Operational Risk and Risk Analytics Group. From 2009 to 2012, he served in the dual role of Illinois Chief Fiduciary Operating Officer and Chief Fiduciary Officer for the Illinois Suburban offices. He was a Group Executive in the Private Client Services Division of Personal Financial Services from 2007 to 2009.
Beginning in 1991, he served as a Personal Trust Administrator, became a Senior Trust Administrator in 2000, and was named a Trust Division Manager in 2003.
Prior to 1991, Dale served in several roles within the Trust Department including Account Administrative Services, the Benchmark Service Center, Fiduciary Income Tax Services and the Personal Investment Management Group. He also served as the Chairman of the Trust Discretionary Committee from 2000 to 2007.
He received a B.S. degree in from Valparaiso University and a M.B.A. degree from DePaul University.
Dale joined Northern Trust in 1984, was named Trust Officer in October 1987, Second Vice President in October 1992, Vice President in October 1995 and Senior Vice President in July 2006.
Dale serves as a Senior Trust Advisor and Relationship Manager on the Wealth Advisory Services Team. He is responsible for the administration of large, complex trusts for individuals and families, including revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, family limited partnerships and limited liability companies, electing small business trusts, IRAs, and charitable trusts. His duties often involve working with sophisticated estate plans, sensitive family situations, and complex investment programs. As a Trust Advisor, Dale is familiar with fiduciary standards, applicable laws and regulations.
Dale is a member of the Chicago Estate Planning Council and serves as board Chairman of Midwest Young Artists Conservatory, Highwood, IL. He also serves as Board President of the Johnston Bowman Home Corporation and of the Henry Strong Educational Foundation.
