Juan Ortiz

Juan leads a multi-disciplinary wealth management team focused on delivering trust, investment, banking and advisory solutions to successful individuals, families and business owners. He previously oversaw the Wealth Management Banking Services team, Employee Banking and the National Mortgage Center. Responsibilities included the deposit and loan portfolios, day to day operations and the overall experience for our clients and partners.

Juan has developed a career in relationship management. This includes handling and expanding relationships with clients and employees. His experience in lending includes commercial real estate, C&I, SBA and investment secured lending. He also has a strong retail banking background, community development and CRA experience. Prior to joining Northern Trust in 2015, he held roles at Wintrust and Park National Bank/FBOP Corp which was acquired by US Bank.

He is a member of the Leadership Greater Chicago Class of 2025, a board member of the National Museum of Mexican Art, Allies for Community Business (A4CB) and Common Purpose (Chicago200). Juan is involved with our Latin Heritage Leadership Business Resource Council serving as a board member with previous roles of President, Vice President and Treasurer. He has volunteered with various organizations including the Catholic Charities, Casa Catalina Food Pantries and Cradles to Crayons. He previously served on the board of St. John Berchmans School in Chicago and was on the loan committees for the Women’s Business Development Center and Acción Chicago.

He obtained his B.A. from the University of Illinois, Urbana/Champaign, IL and his MBA from National Louis University in Chicago, IL.
